Hands-On Farm-to-Table Cooking with Tanya

Your hands-on culinary experience will begin with a walk around the property to take in the views and to get to know one another. Next, we will move into the culinary cottage, tasting various salts, olive oils, and vinegars. As we discuss the menu, we will take a trip to the garden to pick herbs and vegetables (depending on the season) and walk down to the chickens to gather eggs, if needed.

We will spend the next hour or so cooking, learning techniques like proper knife skills, and tasting the food as we go along. Lastly, you will sit down and enjoy the foods that you made with a paired glass of wine.

We will end our time together with any last questions and gratitude for the knowledge we gained, the fun we had, and the new friends we made.

“A couple of months ago, we happened upon an article in a local magazine that featured Tanya Stitser, CEO of Just Salt It. After some discussion, we chose a culinary experience for our holiday event. Her husband Conrad was helping with everything from clearing cutting boards to taking photographs. The experience was incomparable from start to finish.

Tanya had everything laid out in an extremely organized and easy to follow manner. To start, we were offered a glass of wine and a beautifully arranged charcuterie platter. We broke into groups where we prepared a salad, main course and dessert. Tanya guided us through each step (hands-on at times), continually helping wherever necessary. Not one detail was missed.

Once our “work” was done, we were guided to the dinner table to take our seats. Moments later, Tanya and Conrad brought bowls and platters of our prepared meal for our enjoyment. It was heavenly. Our group truly enjoyed the experience as well as the final result. The time we spent together that evening was priceless and getting to know Tanya and Conrad was definitely a bonus. It was a great escape from our daily office interactions.

Our event was the topic of discussion the next morning and there was talk of doing it again in the future. I will be looking forward to it!
